Creating
Learning Organisations
Whilst,
the “Learning Organisation” has become an
aspiration for many companies, at Neil Dawn
Associates we have developed methods to link
the internal day-to-day operational learning with
the changing external world of customers,
suppliers and the whole ‘value chain’.
“If
organisations are to address current chaotic
conditions in any significant way it will have to
be through collective thinking and learning at
organisational, team and individual levels.”
Our
methods primarily encourages open and transparent
learning processes within the organisation, these
are then codified into it’s collective memory.
As a consequence, organisations are able to
capture knowledge and derive a unique wisdom for
future decision-making and continuous improvement
programmes.
The “learning Organisation” is not an
altruistic aim, we believe that there are
significant benefits to be had from creating an
environment where people reflect and learn from
their everyday activities. Indeed, if we are not
able to learn quicker than the rate of change it
is likely we will become extinct.
